League Update re Covid-19

Firstly during these unprecedented times we hope that everyone associated with our member clubs are keeping safe and well.
The FA have directed that all grassroots football had to be concluded.
There were two options offered:

  1. ) Conclude the league programme and declare a null and void (expunged) scenario.
  2. ) Conclude the league programme and consider a PPG outcome.

The league Divisional Secretaries considered both options, and, after completing individual exercises within their age groups, came to a decision that it would be totally unfair to adopt option 2 given that in many cases less than half the league season had been completed. In addition due to the inclement weather we also had a serious situation to deal with, league fixtures, cup fixtures and County Cups postponed which didn’t help.
Therefore regretfully we have to adopt option 1 and declare the season null and void (expunged). We appreciate that some teams will be extremely disappointed with this outcome but we feel it to be the only course of action that the league could take.
We will keep everyone informed as to the next meeting date and league forms for next season will be sent out to all member clubs.
We believe that in the current climate there are more important issues than football to consider, however, hopefully the pandemic will improve in the coming months and we will be able to plan for next season and once again enjoy our great game.
Stay safe everyone.
